Many years ago, the citizens of Flat Rock and Washington Township, Indiana gather photos from their past and created two books of photos and documents. Through their efforts, much of the past has not been lost. We all owe them a world of gratitude for taking the time to preserve these memories of this earlier period in our county's history.

  Mr. Harold J. Weinantz, Flat Rock Class of 1945, was kind enough to loan me these books so the photos and history could be shared with you.

  There are over 300 pages of photos and documents. There is a table of contents so you can go to any page or view them one at a time. Please take some time to visit the Cardinals and their community and enjoy the time when life was hard but the pace of slow in comparison to the life many of us live today.

  In the upper left hand corner of each page is a magnifying glass. By placing your mouse cursor in the lower left hand corner, you can click and drag to increase and decease the size. My clicking on the + or - magnifying glasses you can zoom in or out. You can drag the magnifying glass window by placing your cursor on the bottom bar until your mouse cursor turns to a double arrow. Click and drag across the page. With a little practice, this will be a great tool to help in reading the pages and viewing the photos.
